Coachella 2023 Guide to Shoes

Coachella 2023 Guide to Shoes
Patricia Yao

Coachella is right around the corner and we are just as excited for the outfits as we are for the music! Fashion is an important part of the iconic Coachella experience but comfort is also essential. With all the walking and standing involved in attending a music festival, it's crucial to have comfortable footwear.

But we believe that you should never sacrifice fashion for comfort. There are plenty of shoe options that are be both stylish and practical for a grueling festival like Coachella. We've curated a list of our favorite comfortable and fashionable shoes that are perfect for Coachella. All you need to do is pick a pair and give them a test run before hitting the festival.

Teva Original Universal

Teva sandals are a classic choice for music festivals, and the Original Universal style is a particularly popular option. These sandals feature adjustable straps for a customized fit, as well as a cushioned footbed for added comfort. The rubber outsole provides excellent traction, which is important when navigating the crowds at Coachella. Pick from a variety of different prints to go with any outfit.

Dansko Reece

If you're looking for a more supportive sandal, the Dansko Reece is a great option. Dansko is known for the clogs that provide support and stability for all day wear and their sandals are just as comfortable. This stylish sandal features a leather upper and slimming design that will make any foot look good.  The adjustable back strap and ample arch support will ensure your feet feel just as good as they look! The Reece comes in a variety of colors, so you can choose one that matches your festival outfit.

Birkenstock Arizona Big Buckle

The Birkenstock Arizona style is a classic choice but the big buckle details elevate this long time favorite. These sandals feature a contoured cork footbed that molds to your foot over time, providing excellent arch support. The two adjustable straps allow for a customized fit, while the EVA sole is lightweight and flexible. Beware with the cork footbed, though; we don't recommend wearing new Birkenstocks to Coachella as they take time to mold to your foot. If they haven't been broken in properly, they can be stiff and cause pain for all day wear.

Aetrex Sydney

If you need more height for your Coachella footwear, the Aetrex Sydney is the perfect wedge for you. This espadrille style wedge features a memory foam footbed with the built in Aetrex Orthotic system. With these adorable wedges, you won't have to sacrifice comfort or stability for height and fashion. They're almost too good to be true!

Hoka Bondi 8

If you want maximum cushioning for your feet, the Hoka Bondi 8 is the pick for you. This chunky sneaker features a thick midsole that provides excellent shock absorption, as well as a breathable mesh upper. The rubber outsole offers excellent traction, while the padded tongue and collar provide extra comfort. By the end of the day, you'll be the envy of all your friends- and looking great while you're at it.

UGG Tasman

This list wouldn't be complete without the hottest shoe of 2023 so far. If you've been lucky enough to get your hands on a pair of UGG Tasman, they are a cozy and casual option for Coachella. Lightweight, durable, and easy to slip on; these sheepskin lined slippers are effortlessly stylish.

Choosing which shoes to wear to Coachella may be the most important decision you make all weekend. Don't let uncomfortable shoes ruin your weekend and cause lasting pain after! Instead, pick a style that prioritizes comfort while still matching your aesthetic perfectly.

  • Arahi 7 Review

Looking for a new go-to sneaker? Hoka’s Arahi 7 just dropped, and it might be our new favorite shoe. These surprisingly-light stability sneakers aren’t like any others on the market. The biggest upgrade from the Arahi 6 is the new upper which we think not only looks better but also adds some great tech and comfort features. The lacing and zonally engineered, flat-knit upper allow your foot to stay down in the middle while having extra room in the toe box, creating a comfortable step. The lacing is also more adaptable with narrow feet, so they’re comfortable for all foot types. If you have a wider foot, we would suggest trying the Wide width since the upper can feel a bit more narrow, especially for longer distances.
